The Hidden Acne Triggers Wrecking Your Skin

You’ve cut dairy, sugar, gluten… you’re eating clean, hitting the gym, maybe even adding “healthy” swaps into your routine. And yet the breakouts keep showing up.
Isn't that the most frustrating part? You’re doing everything “right,” but your skin still isn’t calming down. At that point, it’s easy to think: “What else could it possibly be?!”
Here’s the tea: sometimes the very things you think are helping like: powders, vitamins, “healthy” snacks, can quietly become triggers when your body is already struggling with imbalances.
Today, I’m spilling 3 sneaky acne triggers that show up in “healthy” habits (and yes, they can absolutely wreck your skin).
Green Powders
On the surface, they sound perfect: a quick scoop of veggies in your morning smoothie. But here’s the catch, many popular powders are fortified with synthetic B12, which can easily overload your system.
Too much B12 has been linked to hormonal-style breakouts along the jawline and chin. If you’ve swapped in a daily green powder and suddenly noticed flare-ups, it might not be your imagination.
Multivitamins
Taking a daily multi feels like a no-brainer… until your skin starts rebelling.
Often times lots of multi-vitamins pack in megadoses of Biotin and B12, often way more than your body actually needs. Pair that with sneaky fillers and even added sugars, and suddenly your detox pathways are overwhelmed. When your liver can’t clear things efficiently, your skin often becomes the “backup exit.”
Greek Yogurt
Many people don’t consider Greek yogurt “real dairy.” It feels like a healthy, protein-packed snack.
But if dairy is one of your personal triggers, yogurt still counts. And it can be just as inflammatory as a glass of milk or a slice of cheese. If you’ve cut everything else but kept your “healthy” Greek yogurt habit, it might be the reason breakouts are still firing up.
Even “healthy” swaps can backfire when your body is already facing imbalances.
It’s not about blaming food, it’s about supporting your body so it can handle more flexibility without flaring up. When your detox pathways, hormones, and digestion are in balance, these same foods may not bother you at all.
Clear skin doesn’t come from restriction, it comes from understanding your unique acne triggers and supporting your body at the root level.
If you’ve ever felt frustrated thinking, “I’m doing everything right, why isn’t my skin calming down?” you’re not alone.
Try pausing one of these habits and see if your skin shifts. And if you’re tired of guessing, that’s exactly what I help my clients map out inside the Clear Skin Program 💕.
